This page tells you about the full membership in the Nickel City Players
Nickel City Players
This is a film production program, not a traditional class. The coach is a member of the program who produces, writes, directs, and acts, but he does not provide coaching.
During the film creation process, actors are required to attend on Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM. Additionally, there may be other Saturday time slots available later in the day for individual character work and scene development. You may be asked to participate in any of these additional time slots, which include 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM, 5 PM, 6 PM, and 7 PM, in addition to the 11 AM to 1 PM Creation Program.
Membership requirements
- Member
- A member is any individual who has been invited to join the program and has completed the following requirements:
- A good headshot is on file.
- video clips are available in our video section on our website for directors to review.
- A letter of intent for one of our films has been signed.
- A contract for the film has been signed.
- Once the contract is signed, which will include the estimated timeline for the creation and shooting schedule, the actor is considered a full member. They commit to completing at least one film, which typically takes 10 to 11 weeks from the start of the creation process to the end of principal photography. After the film wraps, additional tasks such as reshoots, ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement), and publicity photography are often required, and these obligations will also be outlined in the contract.
- There are no mandatory requirements to train as a full member, but it is highly recommended, and training is always free. The film team will have the opportunity to view videos you create in class, which can assist them in making casting decisions. We offer two performance labs, and you can participate in one or both to enhance your chances of being cast by our directors. Soon, there will be three full film teams looking to cast members. Please note that you must be a full member to be considered for casting. The labs are currently on Saturdays from 9 AM to 11 PM and Tuesdays from 7 PM to 9 PM. The Saturday lab only exists between schedule films shoots but the Tuesday night class is permanent.
- Members may also schedule, with the permission of the coach time to work on a character or scene during the week by talking to him in the NCP program on Saturday.
